I used to envy the hermit crab. Not only does he live at the beach, but he also carries around a hard protective shell. No matter where he goes, he takes his house with him.
Justin and I celebrated our 4-year Nicaversary yesterday, which is amazing because it took him almost half that long to persuade me to move here in the first place.
Some might say that most of the world loves babies, but I would argue that no one embraces children into their culture quite like the Nicas do.
As I turn another year older and Lucy approaches the celebration of her first birthday, it seems a fitting time to reflect on all that I have learned and all that Lucy has taught me in my first year of motherhood.
Needless to say, it is a challenge to get packages to us here in Nicaragua and a labor of love on the part of the sender.
